If you have any comments on matters other than the issue during the session, you can express them in the Chat palette for all to see or you can invite an individual for a private "one-on-one" Chat session.
The Chat palette is always open. It has two main areas:
• a public area where everyone can view what is being said; and
• a private area where you can type and edit your message before sending it to the public area.
Viewing and Sending Chat
The Chat palette is like a roll. When you add your comments, they appear on the end of this roll.
To resize the Chat palette, click the zoom box. Click again to return the chat to its default size.
Click the top scroll arrow to review previous chat.
To automatically scroll the chat as new chat arrives, click and hold the bottom scroll arrow until you are at the end.
You can also send your message to the group. Click in the text box at the bottom of the Chat palette and type your message. Edit your message as required until it is exactly what you want to say. Click the Arrow button or press RETURN or ENTER to send your message to the group. If your private area is blank, this confirms that your message was sent. Your message will appear at the end of the roll.
Note: Once you have sent your message you cannot edit it. If you made a mistake, simply send another message.
"One-on-One" Chat
To invite an individual for a private chat session, choose Session Info from the Windows menu. Select the name of the individual's Co-motion for Internet application and click the One-on-One button or double-click the name in the list.
Note: The participant must be active as shown by the darker icon in the list.
The One-on-One chat window will display on their screen when you enter a message. To exit this chat session or to refuse a request to chat, simply click the close box.
